We begin by whisking you away from your accommodation to the beauty of Kintamani, nestled high on a volcanic crater rim, where you will enjoy a hearty breakfast to the stunning views of Lake Batur and its smoking volcanic neighbour.

After breakfast we’re off on our mountain bikes, with our friendly guides  leading at a leisurely pace along the quiet, secret backroads through the villages and varied landscapes of Bali, which change dramatically with altitude.

Cruising downhill, watch the passing parade of rural life, chancing upon a special temple ceremony, stopping at a village warung to chat with the children, or watch wood carvers at work.  And we visit a traditional Balinese family local compound, a privileged look amidst its daily routine .

a 2 hour downhill cycling experience through quiet village back roads .. followed by a 1 hour rice paddy trek. We begin by whisking you away from your accommodation to the rural centre of Bali, with our first stop an interesting tour at a coffee and cocao plantation.  And then we’re off on our mountain bikes, with our friendly guides leading at a leisurely pace, cruising downhill along quiet village roads through the varied landscapes of Bali.

 

 

 

We watch the passing parade of rural life as we cycle, stopping along the way to chat with village women and farmers amid their daily work routine .. and to laugh at the antics of the small children  who smile and wave and call hello, hello.

 

As traditional craftsmen go about their daily routine, we stop to enjoy a privileged opportunity to watch them at their ancient craft.

 

Bali in its Varied Landscapes

As we come to the end of our cycling .. we stop for a drink and snack .. before setting off through the rice paddies for a one hour trek through the changing landscapes of rural life .. with a gentle climb down to a river bed, our guides leading the way .. watching a farmer as he climbs a coconut tree .. and having a well-earned drink of young coconut juice .. then walking through the timeless village of Pejeng,  passing village women as they prepare their offerings to the Hindu gods and go about their typical day, and finishing with a sumptuous Indonesian feast in a modern Balinese family environment, a privileged look amidst its daily routine.
